The Charity is seeking to build a new almshouse, as the current building, constructed in 1739, is not fit for purpose and cannot be redeveloped due to its Grade II listed status.
The Charity is being assisted in this aim by the Dulwich Estate, which contributes to the Charity’s funding.
A planning application for a new almshouse at 68 Half Moon Lane, a site owned by the Estate, has been submitted to Southwark Council.

As a not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering quality, affordable warden-assisted housing, we are looking forward to moving ahead with the project and providing our current and future residents with a home more suited to their needs.
With an extra six units than the current almshouse, the project will also help to address the lack of sheltered housing suitable for older people in Southwark.
